Well good googa mooga!  Time sure does pass by fast sometimes!  I’m still alive!  I had no idea a whole month passed by with me only posting one time.  Believe it or not, I am constantly thinking about my blog.  I have ideas, stories, so much I want to do on here, but like I’ve said a million times before, I don’t have a lot of time to do such things yet.  So this will be a post on updating you all on what’s been going on with me. The DIY Chandelier

ugly chandelierOver time I have been working on the house, trying to figure out ways to declutter and get the feng shui flowing.  It is a slow process for financial reasons but also because I am not naturally crafty.  I have ideas but I need help with carrying them out and I usually have to get inspired from looking at pictures which always takes me a long time.  We have had an eye sore in our house for some time, it’s a brass chandelier that has been here I guess for thirty or so years.  It has pointy bulbs and originally had glass coverings for each bulb.  Each covering has slowly been broken over time and we were down to one bulb that actually worked.  Lance and I have looked at several stores in person and online to try to find a new light for the dining room, but we haven’t found one that we love and that is bright enough for the space. When children are young, they usually need naps.  It used to be a lot easier when the kids were younger and slept in their cribs, but now that they have twin beds that they can climb in and out of and are full of energy, they don’t usually choose intentional down time. So we have resorted to ‘nap rides’.  We would do this once in a while back in the day when a child wouldn’t sleep and would fuss a lot.  It’s a no brainer and works every time.  Since we only have one vehicle, it gets tricky for me when Lance is at work or school.  He has had off lately due to Christmas break, so I have been utilizing the van everyday. My Birthday For A Good Cause

December 1, 2012

So I turned the big 3-5 this year.  I’ve never been age conscious but this year I felt a little weird.  It’s only five years from 40 and 40 is like a milestone or something.  You’re older, wiser and….older!  I never thought that I was going to make it past 30 when I was younger, (I’ve always had a fear of dying young) so this year I gave pause. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and we are starting to prep for it here at the house.  We have to clean and grocery shop and tomorrow I have to cook a couple things because I am splitting the cooking with my mother in law this year.  My oldest son has a cold so trying to get him to rest is quite tricky, and he is getting cabin fever even though he has been outside everyday, just not as long as usual.  We usually have Thanksgiving at my mother in law’s house but she wanted to switch it up this year because of her sadness since the loss of her dear mother.  Gigi, left us last spring and we miss her dearly.  I have always wanted to write a post on her, but I find certain things difficult to write about.  Writing about my loved ones, especially those who have passed away, makes me feel like I can’t write enough, or do them any justice with my words.  So even though I have thought about her every single time I go to blog, I set the post aside for a time when I might be better prepared.
